After UAA earning Second Place in the Women’s tournament, the Men’s team quickly followed up with their first game of the Shootout. The final result was a loss for the Seawolves 62-71 to the Pacific Tigers.
Despite the final result, the game remained a close contest throughout with the Seawolves gaining an early lead on the Tigers ten minutes into the first half. However the Tigers hedged a marginal lead as the first half ended. The Tigers held onto their lead at the end of the first half by one point earning 28-27 over the Seawolves.
30 seconds into the second half things began looking favorable to the Seawolves as Brian McGill closed the gap on the Tigers with a 3 pointer. Seawolves Travis Thompson and Boomer Blossom followed up with their own three points within the next five minutes closing the score with a 5 point lead over the Tigers. However the Tigers responded and quickly tied the game only for a 3 pointer from Tiger Alec Kobre to allow the Tigers to gain a lead. The Tigers continued to gain ground on the Seawolves and peeled away with an final score of 62-71.
