About the News Department

KRUA is not just all just music shows and promos. Sometimes student radio needs to be seriously informative and that’s why there is the KRUA News Department.

KRUA is one of two student media organizations on campus and therefore gives students the opportunity to learn and participate in radio journalism. That means student reporters will be bringing you the listener the voices of the people who shape our campus, city, and state, with interviews and the stories behind them. We at the News Department always try to present the news ultimately without bias and with the integrity necessary to be a vital source of information and perspectives on the important issues faced by the UAA Campus and our Alaskan community.

Be sure to tune into the News Feed, every Friday at 4pm for seriously informative content, interviews, and updates from the KRUA News Department. Look below for previous episodes and stories from the KRUA News Department.
