Kerala | Bonobo

Bonobo’s giving us a new album come 2017! Our music manager, James, showed me this video a bit ago and we love it! I’ve had it on repeat every day. The video is full of supernatural Easter eggs and demands 10(0)+ views. I had no idea he was releasing new stuff, a testament to my zealous dedication. He’s giving us classic Bonobo beats with harp and vocal sampling from Brandy. Ethereal! An 11/10 on the Kitchen Kontemporary Dance Scale.

Give It to Me | Lyrica Anderson

Everyone once in a while I will come across a song that makes me want to get out my chair and grace the world with two solid minutes of exotic body rolls. OK, maybe I’m being a little dramatic. However, Lyrica’s newest single is definitely on my playlist entitled #REPEAT. I was first introduced to Lyrica on VH1’s show Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood. She started off songwriting and I became interested once I learned she penned one of my favorite Beyoncé songs, Jealous. Then I discovered she has multiple EP’s on iTunes. I am a fan and can’t wait to see what she puts out next.

I would give this song a 4/5 music notes on AJ’s scale of music worthiness.

Vol. 1 | H.E.R.

I’ll make time because you’re worth it, fall back when you don’t deserve it and I’ll start losing patience when my effort’s being wasted.” – H.E.R (Song Tittle – Losing)

When mystery married misery, we got the newest EP from H.E.R. This EP is a mixture of emotions one feels while in a relationship. There’s something very mysterious about H.E.R. If you look at her social media, all you see is her silhouette. The mystery along with her heavy, soulful, rich-toned voice captivated me. Having never been in a relationship beyond my 1st grade girlfriend India, this EP has a chill approach while still hosting meaningful lyrics that speak to even me. I would give H.E.R., Vol. 1 a 5/5 music notes on AJ’s scale of music worthiness. Recommended tracks: Losing, Focus, Jungle.

Trampoline | Papooz

I ate breakfast and listened to Papooz not but two days ago. My life is amazing! Their new EP is chill AF and high-energy. Like Mac DeMarco’s beachy buttery silliness  but all French and no Canadian. This duo is one of my favorite finds of the semester and now they have some new stuff. Pip pip!
